My Dotty End of Month Update, Part One

It has been a crazy beginning to 2009 for us with lots of snowstorms, freezing cold weather here in New York, but believe it or not no school closings! However, there have been many scrumptious custom boutique sets from some very talented designing minds! We have been so busy coordinating accessories and playing dress-up that I haven't even had the time to post them as we did the shoots. I will try to catch up here!

This set was made by Sandy of I_mbornagain who we have had the pleasure of working with before on an exquisite Matrouska (Russian Doll) set. She has both an eBay and an Etsy store. This set is absolutely darling with great colors (reds and pinks are my absolute favorite and I love to accent with white!) and can be worn by your sweetheart for Valentine's Day or anytime. She is currently working on a matching leggings too, which makes for a really light and comfortable option to jeans. I can't wait to get them! And did I mention that I go just dotty for polkadots! They are such fun!

Hunting for Spring!

I entered a photo from this shoot in the "Spring Hunter" Photo Contest for the Boutique Girlz this past month. We didn't win but I had a lot of fun coming up with an idea to fit the theme Spring Hunter. My idea was originally to have a Robin redbreast hunting for a worm, but that didn't work out when I couldn't find the right colors of tulle and feathers. So I did the best with what I had at hand and I made her a yellow chick.
For the contest I had chosen a picture where Kayla was holding up the worm (or should I say length of marabou -- please use your imagination since I could not for the life of me find a worm -- LOL ) because I thought it better fit the theme, but I actually liked this shot better. I also had fun making the tutu with matching tulle bow and catching up on my favorite t.v. shows that I had been too busy to watch with all the Christmas rush.
Now if only this was a real hunt and I could find Spring because it is very, very cold and snowy here, with more snow on the way and I am missing Spring very badly!

Kayla's Art Featured on Ollie Girl! Blog

If you go to the Links We Love section of our blog and click on Short & Sweet and go to January 5, 2009 you will see a picture of Kayla dressed in Ollie Girl! Alice in Wonderland and her Dollie in a matching dress, along with an original "kaylArt" piece of artwork! Kayla made that particular drawing to thank Angela for the dress she LOVES so much!

BTW, that was not our little artist's first public display of Art -- she also was the 4 year old winner in the You Can Make This Art Contest in September 2008 with the drawing above.
The drawing depicts her 2 year old and 3 year old class Teacher Miss Candace, her class friends and her school (The Rinx Preschool School Academy), an ice-skating preschool. She's now in her 3rd year there, and will be leaving to go to Kindergarten next year (SNIFF, SNIFF).

Our Very Own Model Card!

Since we've been getting several requests to do boutique clothing modeling jobs for eBay and Etsy designers , I figured we needed a Modeling Card. So of course, I approached Kerstin of Bambini Dreams to construct one for me, and just look what she came up with -- I think it's just stunning!

I don't know how I will resist hiring her to do a modeling card for each photo shoot -- LOL!!

Please do feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our modeling services. Thank you!

Adding Magic to Magical Moments...

I want to share one of my favorite photos taken during
during our October 2008 trip to Walt Disney World.
Kayla was on her way to get pictures taken for her photo package from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique when Pinocchio stopped her, and like a true prince, kneeled down and kisses her hand. Her look was priceless! And editing made it timeless.
It's been edited by Kerstin Korn of Bambini Dreams Design / KK Graphic Design. I just LOVE what she did with this and all the other Disney Photos I sent her for photoediting. I highly recommend her services for editing of modeling pictures, pictures for thank yous and invitations, and just favorites! She is much more talented than I am at photo editing (LOL), she is professional, courteous, an extremely quick turn-around and great prices. She even does custom digi-frames for me (and has others in stock) which I totally LOVE. She can help you to REALLY Capture the magic! Check out more of her work under Bambini Dreams in my links section.
BTW, Kayla calls this her "Ghost Cinderella" dress. I think that's so funny, but I guess it makes sense because all the ghosts in the Haunted Mansion are dressed in those Edwardian/Victorian type fashions -- LOL.

We're Still in Wonderland!

I am very excited to share my very first attempt at painting with PSP XI -- or any computer program for that matter! I had such fun, I am afraid I will be painting on every photo!

Kayla put this wonderful dress from Ollie Girl! on again (it is a true treasure), and wanted to do a second photo shoot, this time painting the roses red. She actually sat on my lap the whole time while I was editing the photo and critiqued my work. "I think you're supposed to make the rose ALL red," she told me. LOL.

She also told me today that "my favorite time of day is tea time" as she poured fake raspberry tea into little plastic cups for us from her Mrs. Potts tea pot. It was a Magical Moment -- Thank God for Disney and Ollie Girl dresses!

That's all for now. Have a Very Merry UnBirthday!

We went a little...Sewcrazy!

Howdy, Sweethearts! We had an absolute hootin' hollerin' blast working with this fun Valentine's Day set from Carol of Sewcrazy Boutique. This set has a lot of HEART, but the best thing about it is that it is versatile and of a HEART-y (hardy) stock that will long outlive Valentine's Day (LOL)! Look for the listing to appear on eBay today. We will be working with Carol again soon and it will be a "royal" event, I am certain!

A Belle in Black and White

This shoot was a practice one -- Kayla chose the theme "Belle" from Beauty and the Beauty and the hairstyle from the "She Does Hair" blog. She said "That one looks like Belle hair."

It was my first attempt at a style from that blog so I was thrilled that she chose probably the easiest one -- LOL.

Hopefully, that was not my best attempt, but it was a lot of fun, anyway. I honestly think I need to get over my fear of putting hair products in her hair and we'll be fine.

We got this lovely Belle dress, in case anyone is interested, from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Downtown Disney at Kayla's very first BBB makeover. Now they have BBB in the castle, and Kayla prefers to have her makeovers done there. They do the most magical makeovers you could imagine!

The second shot from this shoot that I just could not resist sharing -- although I don't always prefer black and white. This is actually done with PSPXI and it's an infrared film effect.
She is playing with Mrs. Potts from her Disney Princess
Enchanted Talking Kitchen. She LOVES this kitchen, and while not sturdily made, it is very, very pretty, and was well worth the price since I got it on clearance for half off at Toys 'R Us after Christmas. I HAD to get it for her even though she has a kitchen since it goes with her vanity, tea cart, tea service, and throne! Off to Craigslist with her Little Tykes Talking Kitchen LOL.
That's all for now!

Kayla in Wonderland

Kayla celebrates her favorite movie (of the month -- last month it was James and the Giant Peach and the month before that, Hercules, the month before that the Incredibles, and so on LOL) with a wonderful, adorable set from Angela of Ollie Girl! The set even included the headband.

Kayla chose this set to wear to Disney on Ice / Disneyland Fun! which features Alice in Wonderland, the Incredibles, Mickey & Minnie & More! She will also wear it to Disney World in February, and of course, to many an impromptu tea party!

This set was a Christmas present to Kayla from us, and was a design from Ollie Girl!'s fabulous inventory of calico princess dresses. We are pleased to be working with this designer on two upcoming sets which will be fun surprises to be announced at a later date! And just yesterday she released pictures of the most darling Mulan (another one of Kayla's favorites) set ever! It's next on our "to buy" list. You can check these fabulous pictures by Veralana Photography out by visiting Ollie Girl! through our favorite links section.

May your life be a Wonderland!
